CBD Oil and Pharmaceutical Drugs

Thinking about adding CBD oil to your lifestyle? There has been early research suggesting that the cannabinoid might be able to enhance the effects of certain pharmaceutical medications and even replace pharmaceuticals entirely. While more research into the matter is still needed, this could possibly mean that individuals who are currently taking CBD might be able to actually lower the doses of their medications. This pre-clinical research also suggests that CBD might be able to…

New Jersey’s Recreational Marijuana Bill Introduced In the Senate

Bill that would legalize the recreational use of marijuana introduced in the New Jersey Senate. Both during the campaign and after being elected, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy made clear that he will support legalizing the recreational use of marijuana in New Jersey. On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, that campaign promise took one step closer to becoming a reality, when New Jersey Senator Nicholas Scutari introduced Senate Bill No. 830. What's New? Vancouver Could Generate Up to $29 Million in Additional Revenue Through Taxed Pot Sales: Study

A new study suggests Vancouver pot smokers could generate up to $29 million annually for the province in additional tax revenue if marijuana was taxed at the same rate as cigarettes. The 2018 Cannabis Price Index, compiled by pot-tech startup Seedo, looked at the cost of cannabis around the world. The study then calculated how much additional tax revenue each city’s population of pot smokers might generate based on each city’s consumption and average marijuana…

Marijuana Mapped: the Price of Weed Across the U.S.

It’s relatively cheap in Seattle, and L.A. and San Francisco are pretty competitive, but it’s an entirely different story on the East Coast, especially in the nation’s capital. We’re talking marijuana prices, of course. According to the 2018 Cannabis Price Index, a study compiled by Seedo, a Tel Aviv-based company that produces devices for home growers, the average cost in Seattle is $7.58 a gram, while it’s a whopping $18.08 in Washington. In New York…

California is Celebrating the End of Weed Prohibition with Cannabis Cocktails

Prohibition is over, again! That’s how Californians are hailing the state’s recent legalization of marijuana—and it’s gotten plenty of creative juices flowing. The response to the Jan. 1 decision echoes the reaction in San Francisco on Dec. 5, 1933 to the news that Congress had repealed the 21st Amendment, lifting a 13-year-long nationwide ban on alcohol. With legal booze flowing again, fourteen trucks hauling wine and gin rolled through the city, proudly delivering their cargo…

How Greece is Growing Medical Marijuana to Tackle High Unemployment

Greece is taking advantage of its warm climate to cultivate pot and create more than 2,000 jobs. The Greek economy has been hammered by 10 years of financial crisis, with unemployment topping 20 per cent every year since 2012. Now, the government thinks pot growers can help. A project to cultivate, process and export medical marijuana in Veroia, in the fertile north of the country, shows how Greece sees cannabis as a possible growth industry…

Marijuana: Is it Time to Stop Using a Word with Racist Roots?

As marijuana arrests disproportionately affect minorities, controversy grows over a term prohibitionists hoped would appeal to xenophobia. It’s been known as dope, grass, herb, gage, tea, reefer, chronic. But the most familiar name for the dried buds of the cannabis plant, and one of the few older terms still in use today, is “marijuana”. For the prohibitionists of nearly a century ago, the exotic-sounding word emphasized the drug’s foreignness to white Americans and appealed to…

Prescription V Plant Meds for Pain-Relief (Weighing the Short and Long-Term Impact)

CANNABIS CULTURE - There’s one big issue when it comes to determining the short- and long- term health effects of cannabis: we cannot say anything for sure regarding its safety, especially in the long-term. Much of this is due to the fact that cannabis and cannabinoids are listed as Schedule I on the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), and hence getting the funding to research their effects properly is very difficult. Yes, this ultimately means that…

6 Ways Trump & Sessions Have Attacked Cannabis Users in Legalized States

CANNABIS CULTURE  - On January 4th 2018, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced his office had repealed an Obama-era piece of regulation that had granted state's control of cannabis legislation. With this ruling, the current administration began a rollback of state-control over cannabis use and reinvigorated the drug war. What will this move mean? In some states, it is only legal for medical use and research, while in others, it is legal for personal or recreational…

Amid an Industry Boom, Incarceration for Weed Still Threatens Black Women

Nija Guider, 21, spent three days in a Georgia jail ― locked away from her infant son ― because she attended a party where marijuana was present. Meanwhile, in states across the country, businesses, many run and funded by wealthy white men, stand to make millions of dollars selling the federally illegal substance. It is easy, amid the fog of flippant news coverage and caricatured weed culture, to mistake America’s stance on marijuana. Our parlance…

A Country that Punishes Drug Traffickers with Death is Investing in Medical Marijuana

One of the countries with the world’s harshest drug laws is planning to invest in medicinal pot. Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF) this month (Jan. 10) announced that it would develop synthetic cannabinoids, or chemical compounds found in the marijuana plant, as part of a broader S$25 million ($19 million) investment by the body into synthetic biology. The initiative will help boost Singapore’s push to develop a “bio-based economy,” and grow new industries and create…

The friendly market takeover of CanniMed Therapeutics by Aurora Cannabis will have a significant impact on the cannabis production and distribution landscape in Alberta. Article: Chris Nani – Part II: My Proposed Tax Break

Recognizing that federal legalization is a daunting challenge, I studied alcohol prohibition through the PBS series Prohibition. Prohibition didn’t start immediately but was the consequence of decades of alcoholism and the violence it spurned. Women were tantamount in starting a movement of prohibition against alcohol and it took years and milestones to reach the creation of the Eighteenth Amendment. It initially started with women’s meetings, then protesting saloons, and eventually men joining the movement and swearing off alcohol. The women’s suffrage movement helped pave the way to prohibition through time and dedication. The same is true for the Twenty-First Amendment ending prohibition. Both movements took years of lobbying, politics, and gaining public support. Learning from the past, I propose, instead of attempting to completely legalize marijuana, to create tax incentives for marijuana businesses while enforcing § 280E.While t…

Want to Work in Cannabis? Here’s Where You Should Study

As the July 2018 marijuana legalization date comes closer, universities and colleges looking to cash in on the burgeoning cannabis industry are figuring out ways to meet new demand for skilled workers to fill roles in the growth, production, marketing, and distribution of legal weed. While there's still a giant question mark around how many new jobs the legal industry will create, it’s safe assume that tens of thousands of new weed-related positions will open…

Legalized Cannabis Sales Could Be in the Billions — If Retail Can Smoke Out The Black Market

Canadians spent an estimated $5.7 billion on marijuana in 2017. Canadians spent an estimated $5.7 billion on cannabis last year according to Statistics Canada, but that's not a guarantee those sales will translate into billions-of-dollars for the legal market, at least not immediately. That's because over 90 per cent of those sales were in the black market — or, as Statistics Canada describes it, in non-medical consumption. "It's certainly going to take a while to…

Cannabis world news -- Why we need to legalise cannabis for medical use in the UK

Why we need to legalise cannabis for medical use in the UK

Source: George Mattei / Science Photo Library “Fifty years of intelligent, pragmatic drugs policies of decriminalisation in The Netherlands have delivered a prison crisis. There are not enough prisoners to fill their prisons. Isn’t this a problem we would like to share?”This seemed a reasonable question to ask the UK Government’s drugs minister, Sarah Newton, during a Commons debate in July 2017, but the antennae of the main British political parties have been insensitive to the current global disillusionment with drug prohibition laws.Until 1973, tincture of cannabis had been medically available in the UK for over 100 years. It has been used as a medicine in its natural form across the continents for 5,000 years#fn_1">[1]. But in the 1960s, the UK was swept along with the international hysteria provoked by US President Nixon’s missionary zeal to eliminate the use of all illegal drugs.UK’s progress lags behindIncreased d…

France to ease cannabis laws

PARIS, France (AFP) — The French government announced a new approach to cannabis users on Thursday, scrapping potential prison sentences and heavy fines in favour of on-the-spot penalties for smokers in a bid to save police time.France is one of the biggest consumers of cannabis in Europe, with around 700,000 people estimated to use the drug every day.An EU report in 2015 on alcohol and drug use among 15- and 16-year-olds showed French teens were among Europe's biggest dope smokers.Yet France's laws on the drug are among Europe's strictest, with those caught smoking a joint facing fines of up to 3,750 euros (US$4,600) and a one-year prison sentence, although in reality most go free with a warning."We are going to introduce simplified fines for this offence," Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said, confirming a campaign pledge by President Emmanuel Macron. But he was adamant that Macron would not follow the example of the Netherlands or S…

Cannabis Growers Get Creative to Ease Power Demands of Pot

Innovative scientific, engineering ideas are reducing the electricity demands of producing pot. Legalization may be taking the business of cannabis out of the shadows, but there's an inescapable truth in the tangled mess of extension cords and intense lighting rigs used in clandestine basement grow-ops. Vermont becomes ninth US state to legalise marijuana

Vermont has become the ninth US state to legalise marijuana possession for recreational purposes - following the lead of California, Colorado and other states in need of a tax revenue boost.See related Governor Phil Scott yesterday signed into a law a bill that legalises possession of up to one ounce of cannabis and that removes penalties for possession of up to two mature marijuana plants and up to four immature plants. The law applies to people aged 21 and older.Vermont -described by CNN as “one of the most liberal states in the country” - legalised the use of medical marijuana in 2004.  The new law comes into effect on 1 July.“With mixed emotions, I have signed H. 511 [House Bill 511],” Scott said in a statement addressed to the state’s General Assembly. “I personally believe that what adults do behind closed doors and on private property is their choice, so long as it does not negatively impact the health and safety of others, esp…

Denver’s Marijuana Retail Stores Raised the Price of Nearby Homes by Over $33K, Study Shows

Recreational marijuana stores in Denver, Colo., raised local home values by an average of US$27,000 ($33,600), in the immediate area after legalization, a study found. The study’s authors drew circles a tenth of a mile (160 metres) wide around each of 103 medical marijuana stores in Denver which started to sell recreational pot after legalization. They then compared prices of houses that fell inside the circles to those outside. “It’s really localized,” says University of…

Separate batches of rosin

Im looking towards the summer and I plan to make rosin.

So Imagine a big bush. Clearly its gonna take several squishes.
Do you contain each squish separately.
Or do you collect and store in a large mixed batch.

The reason I ask is because I assume all squishes aren't equal as far as quality goes. Maybe im wrong and that is why I ask.

Naturally I will keep varieties separately.

France wants to soften law against cannabis use

France has the toughest laws against smoking cannabis in Europe yet more people consume this drug than in almost any other European country. A new government report recommends introducing fixed fines to tackle the problem. In France, the most recent figures available show that 17 million people have tried cannabis, 1.4 million people use it regularly - 700 000 on a daily basis - and consumption is on the rise. Yet laws against smoking pot are harsher than anywhere else in Europe: under current legislation, users can face up to a year in prison and a fine of 3,750 euros.A new parliamentary report to be released on Wednesday recommends introducing a fixed fine of 150 to 200 euros instead. It concludes that current legislation is not working. Few of the 140,000 people arrested every year in France for smoking a joint are fined, and even less are given a prison sentence. Vermont Is Legalizing Marijuana in a Unique Way

Though the U.S. stock market has been akin to a freight train over the past eight years, with virtually nothing getting in its way or slowing it down, it's marijuana stocks that have really had investors seeing green. A vast majority of pot stocks have doubled or tripled in value over the past year, and legal weed sales growth, along with the public's perception, are to thank for these solid gains.According to Marijuana Business Daily's newest report, "Marijuana Business Factbook 2017," legal weed sales growth in the U.S. is expected to grow by 45% in 2018, probably as a result of California's opening its doors to recreational pot sales as of Jan. 1. By 2021, the U.S. cannabis market could be generating as much as $17 billion in annual revenue, offering a big-time opportunity for investors to make money if this estimate is accurate.Image source: Getty Images.
